Lee Lichtenstein was born in Tel Aviv, Israel went to study in Milan, Italy and later graduated from St. Martin’s college of art and design in London, UK.
Lee worked as a freelance graphic designer and over the past years has been shifting the focus of her artistic work more and more on painting.
Key motive of her artistic practice again and again is the human form as a symbol of the current „conditio humana“. Individual states of mind like hope, pleasure, passion, fear, melancholy, loneliness, but also the human integration into the structures of society and the social role models are the key components of her examining the subject of human nature. The medium of painting allows her in the painterly gesture to reflect on and to explore the field of tension of human existence as directly as possible in the expressive intensity of flows and colours as much as in the interplay between restraint and power.
Lee has two children and now lives and works in Zürich, Switzerland.
